About Rusty
Are you looking for an active, fun loving, handsome ball of energy to join the family? Rusty ticks those boxes and many more...
Rusty is currently in care with a number of other dogs (various ages and sizes) in a family environment and finding his place in the pack. He adores his foster mum and enjoys a good snuggle whenever he can sneak one.
Although he is a recent addition to our Wally's family, Rusty is responding well to his name and has great recall, is crate trained at night and has not had any accidents inside his foster home. He is also undergoing basic command training while in foster care.
Rusty loves playing with other dogs, although he does tend to feel the need to round them up by nipping at their heels at times. He responds well to correction from his humans and they are working hard to minimise this behaviour. This is something that can be inbuilt in his breed so will need ongoing training/correction.
Balls are by far his favourite toy and will happily play fetch in the backyard for hours if you can keep up! If he has a ball in his mouth, he's a happy boy :)
Rusty has shown some food aggression in his foster home and this is currently being worked on. He will need an assertive and strong leader in his forever home. Someone who has the time to dedicate to training and willing to put in the effort with him. He would love another doggie companion with a similiar energy level to keep him entertained while his humans are away or someone who's looking for that special companion to be by their side...possibly a Tradie's dog.
Rusty will not be suited to a home with a small yard or apartment life. He will need a good sized yard or better still, property, where he will have the room to exercise and allow his beautiful personality to shine through. Ideally, someone who has had experience with working dog breeds and understands their needs.
Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 free dog training sessions http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Rusty.
Rusty is booked in for desex on 15th November and will be available for adoption after this date. He is in foster care at Hamlyn Terrace on the Central Coast, NSW and would be more than happy to meet you prior to desex.

Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
