About Charlie
This little cutie is Charlie. He requires a special type of home where he will be offered the time he needs to continue developing his trust in people.
Charlie is a very energetic little man who has had a rough start to life and his new family will need to show him lots of patience and understanding in his new home to help him adjust.
We believe Charlie and his siblings had very little to no human interaction before coming into our care. His carers have done a wonderful job working with him to help him develop his confidence and to realise that being around people can be a really good experience.
He does get nervous when people try to pat him over the head but after a tummy rub he relaxes and doesn't seem to mind the attention.
Charlie will be looking for a home with a desexed confident dog of similar size to help him continue coming out of his shell and developing a bond with his new family. He is very lovable and wants to share it with his people but can sometimes be very unsure. Having another dog in the home has helped his feel a lot more secure. He is more comfortable with small dogs similar size to himself, larger dogs seems to be a bit intimidating for him. A HOME WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
Obedience training will be a MUST for Charlie to help continue his social skills and for him to create a lasting bond with his new family so he understands that he is safe and his people will protect him from situations he is unsure of. He will not cope well in busy situations where he will be overwhelmed and a lot is expected from him. A calm and relaxed environment is required for him at this time in his life.
Charlie has lots of energy and gets to go for walks to the park every day. He is learning to walk on lead but gets very excited knowing that fun times are ahead. He can be a little reactive to other dogs at the park as he is unsure but has his little tail wagging the whole time. These types of reactions can be helped with the assistance from training also. He is a clever boy who is starting to learn his manners. He will sit on command and when his food is put in front of him he will wait until he is told he can eat.
Currently Charlie gets to sleep inside every night where he can feel safe and secure and he is almost toilet trained and only has the occasional accident when he forgets.
Charlie is currently in a foster home with children that understand he needs his space and have been very considerate of his needs. He will be looking for a home with no young children and no cats as they can be unpredictable and we would prefer him find a home where he can settle and feel safe in a quiet environment.
If you have read Charlie's profile and believe you can offer him the wonderful opportunity he needs and deserves we look forward to hearing from you
Charlie is currently in Bentleigh East
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
