About Katie ~ Kelpie x (On Trial 11/2/17)
Katie is a 10 month old Kelpie X who is Cute, Cuddly and Clever.
She is a very snuggly girl; loves everyone she meets and likes nothing better than to be close to you. Her foster mum works from home a lot and Katie has become her shadow, following her around the house or laying at her feet when her foster mum is working.
Like all working dog breeds Katie is very smart and a quick learner. When she came into care, her manners needed work but she is coming along in leaps and bounds. She sits when asked and is learning to wait to be given the ok before eating her food. For someone who is willing to keep working with her she is going to be an amazing smart well behaved dog.
Katie loves company both human and canine. Being a working breed she requires a lot of stimulation so regular activity with people is a must and the company of another dog of similar stamina preferred. She is very social and most likely wouldn’t like being left alone for long periods, she currently has a foster sister who is also a Kelpie X and 2 Staffy X foster brothers whom she just loves to play with.
A big secure yard to play in is a must and while she has shown no signs of being an escape artist, she can jump up onto things without any trouble so high secure fencing would be needed just as a security measure.
Katie is a good girl who sleeps inside on her doggy bed during the night. She does go outside when her foster family goes out, but is allowed inside regularly when they are home.
If you think you might be perfect for Katie, please get in contact with her foster mum Darlene 0438346668 (text preferred) or email stepbowpet@hotmail.com

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
