“Max”, His Own Favourite Dog. Melbourne

Max is his own biggest fan! Max is convinced that he’s the best-looking brindle boy ever, and his foster carers have caught him gazing at his reflection in the window! Max is generally content to chill out in his own company, with only mild curiosity about what his canine foster siblings are doing. He’d be happy to live with other large dogs, or as the one-and-only centre of the universe.

Max is good at using his charms to elicit cuddles from his humans. He’s learned that children (six or over) are a good source of extra pats, and gives his foster carers’ daughter particular attention. Max’s other hobbies include chasing tennis balls (dog toys are still new and scary); barking hello to other dogs who walk past; and hoarding shoes – the smellier, the better! Max is still learning a few tricks about home life, like getting in and out of cars, and socialising with small dogs. He has already determined that cats are not welcome members of his fan club. He has very mild restricted movement in one leg, so is happiest with shortish walks, or a few quick laps of the park.
