About Whiskey ~ Wolfhound x (On Trial 25/11/16)
Whiskey is a gorgeous 7 month old male Wolfhound X. This beautiful boy has a loving nature, is very intelligent and loves to please.
Whiskey is everybody’s friend and enjoys the company of people and other dogs. He is a big, goofy puppy with loads of character and plenty of playful energy and he will make you laugh with his antics.
Whiskey is still growing and will be a tall, lean dog but not the giant size of a pure bred Wolfhound. He loves to play and run and needs regular exercise and plenty of toys to chase and chew. He is, however, a calm dog for his age and is easily trainable. He walks well on a lead and will come when called if he is off lead. He will sit and wait patiently while you prepare his food and he has learnt to stay on his dog bed if he is let inside. He is very affectionate and loves a cuddle.
Whiskey was abandoned at the pound in a state of neglect and malnutrition, but he has made a full recovery and has no ongoing behavioural issues.
Whiskey would suit an active owner or a family that can give him lots of love and attention. He is gentle natured, but due to his size and young age he would not be suitable for little children without constant supervision. He would make a terrific companion for another dog.
Whiskey will make a wonderful, loyal friend for life.
For more information or to meet Whiskey, please contact his foster carer Lucy on 0434 430 720 or email lucyhollard@idl.com.au. Whiskey is in foster care in Whitebridge, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Whiskey's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
