Mickey

Please say hi to Mickey!
Mickey is feeling a bit confused about things lately but is settling in well with his carer and he has a cute little girlfriend Sophie whom he spends his days with. He is a very loving and affectionate boy once he relaxes and feel safe and will make a great companion in a home that is willing to give him time to settle. We have not him around young children so would prefer children 5 years+ who understand the importance of giving dogs their personal space.

Mickey is a very small boy and rather quiet at the moment but considering his age and breed we know he will come out of his shell and will have plenty of energy and fun to have with his new family. Him and Sophie have a great time playing and share lots of funny antics together.
We are not sure if Mickey has any basic training but he is very calm and gentle and listens well as he aims to please his family and loves to be praised when he has made his family happy.

Mickey is currently living mostly indoors. He has had a couple of accidents but is learning the routine of going outside just after dinner.
We would like Mickey to have the opportunity to spend time indoors and sleep inside in his new home. He loves to feel like he is part of the family and we know that being involved in lots of family outings and activities will help him feel at home quickly.

We are not sure how many walks Mickey has been on but he seems really unsure of the lead. He gets very confused with it so it will be something that may take some time. Once he realises the fun involved we are sure he will not mind anymore.
His carer is trying to get him out and about and he gets excited but isn't a real fan of the car. Considering all the moves he has had we thing this is completely understandable as he is possibly wondering where he is being taken this time. Once he realises he is loved by his family and is there to stay he should start to relax and understand he is finally in a home to stay, He will need a home that is willing to work slowly with him and short trips may be a good way to help him

Considering Mickey has been through a lot of changes lately we prefer rather him go to a home with another dog or with Sophie as a companion in his new family. He relies heavily on other dogs to help him feel secure and being an only dog will be very unfair on him.

Mickey has not been tested with cats so a home with NO CATS would be preferred

Mickey is currently in Avonsleigh, VIC
