Rugby

Rugby is a 6 month (or thereabouts) old male Dane/Ridgeback/Mastiff x and, as the name suggests, he’s built like a rugby player and is an extremely strong boy. Equally, his name could be sooky la la, doofus or klutz. While he’s a big softy at heart and he is a puppy, he also seems wise for his years and acts older than he is.

He’s placid and affectionate and likes nothing more than cuddling up with people. She’s currently in foster care with a two legged 11yo sister and two cats. He has heaps of exposure to children and loves them to bits. He does think he’s a lap dog, but at 6ish months and 35 kgs or thereabouts he’s definitely not, and he has a slight tendency to clumsiness, so he will need to be taught good manners as quickly as possible.

Rugby is a loves to please and as a result he has learnt basic commands (sit, drop, back) quickly and responds very well to voice tones and treats. He is wearing a halti when we walk and is extremely good on it. He’s a fantastic running partner as he has energy to burn, so if you’re a marathon runner – apply here!!

He will grow quickly into a big dog with the need for daily exercise. An adoptive family with another dog would be perfect as he loves to play. He is soooo friendly and seems to get along with every dog he meets. He does love companionship but is happy outside as long as he has toys. He is a great collector and has found many treasures long lost in our garden.
