About Clancy ~ Kelpie x Wolfhound (on trial 21/11/16)
Clancy is a gorgeous 1 year old Kelpie x Wolfhound. Clancy fancies himself as a small lapdog and will happily climb on your lap for cuddles. He is almost fully grown and is approximately the size of a Labrador, but with the lean build of a kelpie. He is not hyperactive like some Kelpies and is happy to lounge around and chill with his family.
Clancy is a real character and will make you laugh out loud with his antics.
Clancy needs to belong to a family with another dog that he can play with and the yard needs to have high fences as he may jump over smaller ones. He would suit a family with older children as he may inadvertently knock small ones over; however, he is very gentle with people of all ages.
Clancy needs to be in a family where he can be an indoor/outdoor dog and be involved in his family's adventures.
He needs to be walked at least once a day, is VERY strong on the lead and needs further training for walking on a lead.
Clancy is housetrained and is able to use a doggy door with ease. He has a little basic training but will need to continue to be trained and socialised by his new family.
He is good with kids, dogs, chickens and cats but unsure about pocket pets, rabbits, etc.
Clancy is a real snuggle bunny, loves cuddles and affection, travels well in the car and is very laid back.
For more information or to meet Clancy, please contact his foster carer Lynda on 0479 084 606 or email lyndacurrey@hotmail.com. Clancy is in foster care in Medowie, NSW (Port Stephens) and is available for adoption interstate.
Clancy’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
