About Penny
Hi everyone!
I am a sweet, happy girl who is looking for a new start. I am.as tall as a staffy but lean and small framed. I am cheeky - I get along with other dogs if you introduce me properly- but I am always keeping them on their toes. I LOVE my bones and will happily chomp on one for hours. If the other dogs turn their back on their favourite toy or bone, it's mine! I currently live with two other dogs. My foster family finds me really entertaining. I like to hang out in the yard during the day and come inside at night.
I am not very good with cats- I like to nip them and get very excited. I would rather be in a home without cats however I have only met cats twice since coming into care. OTC feel confident that if the right home came along and had cats- if the adopter spends time training me I will settle.
I like kids, but because I am still learning not to jump up I am best suited to a home with older children who won't squeal and stir me up. I am only a baby myself so am happiest while people aren't frightening me. I like going to the dog park and am learning how to introduce myself properly. OTC have invested in sending me to a puppy school in Toowoomba and there are a few sessions left. My foster has been taking me and I have been going great! But if I get adopted before the classes are over, that's great- but the adopter must be willing to attend my classes with me. It would be a shame to waste OTC funds spent on setting me up for success.
So why am I here? I was kill listed in a rural pound and OTC saved me and my huge friend Lena from death. I have been a sweet and fun addition to the pack.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number and council registration, and will transfer the microchip into your name.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
