About Max
Max is a happy, friendly little dog with loads of personality. He likes to go for walks, enjoys human company, is house-trained and used to sleeping inside at night. He is a little food defensive and will jump up for attention so for this reason only we recommend a family with children over 7.
Max was surrendered by his older owners due to their failing health and despite a couple of mishaps when a puppy, Max is in good health and should have many years of faithful companionship left.
Max is recommended for a home where he is the only dog. Its not that he isn't social, he is good with other dogs, but can be "overcome" by them at times. He would probably chase cats if they were to run but the resident cat was not 'fazed' by him. He is coping with three active pups and two other dogs in foster care by taking himself to another part of the yard and we would really love to see him go where he can be the centre of attention.
He is fine in a yard alone during the day and is not destructive. Good fences are essential but he doesn't dig out. An easy care dog who just needs a brush once a week and some loving companionship every day. A great little dog!
Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website http://www.radarescue.org/online-application-form
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within one week of the adoption.
