About Stanley ~ 10mo BC X Staffy boy (On Trial 22/10/16)
Hi, I’m Stanley! I’m a friendly 10 month old Border Collie X Staffy boy.
I am a little bigger than an English Staffy and a little smaller than a Border Collie. My foster mum says I have a beautiful staffy smile and lots of border collie energy . Pats, belly rubs and time with my humans are a few of my favourite things. I am happiest when I am with my people and I am looking for a new family to love.
I have been taught to sit, stay, lay down and come when I am called. My foster family let me inside and outside and I can use a doggy door. I prefer to be outside during the day playing with my foster brother and napping in the sun, but in the evening I like to curl up inside with my foster family while they watch TV. I love people so much and sometimes get a bit excited when i see them, but I am learning and my new owner will need to be patient with me (after all I am only a puppy). I am learning to be calm and sit when I want belly rubs. I don’t really like to bark. I love to chase balls and play with my squeaky toys and I am even learning to fetch! My foster family are teaching me house manners - I know that I am not allowed on the furniture and that inside time is “quiet time”. I enjoy my daily walks and adventures, and I walk nicely on the lead most of the time.
I have met dogs of all sizes and I love canine company. I do not jump fences or dig to escape, but my new family will need 4-5ft fences to keep me safe. My ideal home will be without chickens or pocket pets as I find it hard to resist chasing them. I have never met a cat so I’m not sure how I would go with them.
My new home must provide lots of love and be willing to continue my training - there is so much I want to learn. I will gladly repay you with loyalty and lots of doggy kisses. I am suited to a couple, single or family, but children over 8 would be best as I get excited and may knock small children over. If you have a dog already then bring them along to meet me and I’m sure we will be best friends!
I am ready to be your loyal mate so for more info or to meet me, please contact my foster carer Tiarny by emailing tiarnyjneesom@gmail.com. Stanley is located near Kurri Kurri, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Stanley's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
