About “Alfie”, Cat-Tolerant. Canberra
All greyhounds are special, but Alfie’s in a class of his own! Alfie has epilepsy, and was having lots of seizures when he first arrived in foster care. Now, with the right medication and lots of love, his epilepsy is under control and he’s ready to live life to the full.
Alfie has striking good looks and a LOT of personality. He likes two good walks or zooms around each day, otherwise he finds his own ways to burn off energy. Alfie has a hilariously naughty streak, and loves stealing the mop or the broom, ‘helping’ with paperwork (pulling it onto the floor), or carrying his favourite gumboot around. You can see a gorgeous video here of Alfie trying to add to his shoe collection!
Alfie adores humans, is good with cats and chickens (as long as they don’t run or flap), and is likely to be fine with children seven or over. Alfie can be a little snappy between medications, so is probably best as an only dog. He loves human company, and although the world can be puzzling for a unique dog like Alfie, he knows how to lean in close for a cuddle.
Alfie is proof that all dogs (like people!) can thrive when they’re loved for who they are, flaws and all. We know there’s a household out there with a special Alfie-shaped space in their hearts…and that whoever adopts him will never forget him.
