About Timmy ~ Great Dane x Mastiff (on Trial 26/12/16)
This tall, dark and handsome young man is Timmy, 12 month old, Great Dane x Mastiff. For a large dog, Timmy really is a gentleman. He has the most unusual dark chocolate coat with splashes of white in his chest. He is a happy and healthy with an easy outgoing personality. If you are looking for your new best buddy then Tim Tam is your man!
Some of Timmy's favourite things include: hanging out in the yard, helping you garden, fetching a ball, going for walks, meeting new people, playing tug o war and swimming. He just wants to be with you and will sit contently and watch you lovingly no matter what you are doing.
Timmy is a big, strong puppy so he would be best suited to teenagers or an all adult family. Although he is not overly excitable and is usually very gentle and never jumps up, he may not realise his size and may knock a small child over.
The mix of Great Dane and Mastiff makes Timmy a dog with medium energy levels. His ideal home would be where he can be part of the family and receive all the attention he deserves. He doesn't want much more than walk and a play each day and he is happiest just being with you or sleeping in the sun. Timmy currently sleeps outdoors in a kennel but likes to hangout with you inside for lounge time each day.
Timmy is in care with 6 other dogs of various sizes and he gets along well with all of them. He prefers the company of female dogs and he treats them with absolute respect, sharing his bed when they are cold or giving them a gentle nibble on the ear to initiate playtime.
He needs a home with either another young active dog or an active family who will be willing to spend some time training him. Timmy is very food focused which makes him easy to train. He always sits politely and waits for permission to begin eating at meal times but prefers to eat away from other dogs, as the temptation to steal their food is just too much to resist for a growing lad.
Tim knows his name and comes back very quickly when you call him back when he's off lead. He has the basics mastered and doesn't need treats to show you how well he can sit, drop and wait. He loves his walks and he is getting better at walking without pulling. Timmy will require ongoing training to ensure he continues developing these skills. He is a beautiful, healthy, friendly dog who will bring you lots of happiness.

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
