About Abby ~ (On trial 18.3.2017)
Abby is a lovely, 10 month old Mastiff X girl. She is a very smart, very affectionate puppy who is looking for her forever home.
Abby is an energetic girl who would suit an active family that will include her in their adventures. She also loves to be a lounge lizard and will happily sleep outside in the sun as long as she gets a walk and interaction with her family. She loves to play chaseys with her foster sister and kids, tug of war and chew on soft toys.
Abby is house trained (she has not had any accidents while in foster care) and is learning to sit, stay and wait for an invitation before coming inside. Abby came into care from the pound (unsure why she was there) and as a result gulps her food quickly and tries to take her foster sister’s food and bones. She is learning to slow down with her eating and will become better as she becomes more secure in her place in the family. Abby shows no food aggression towards her foster sister or human family.
As Abby is still a puppy she does like to chew however, she is happy chewing on a bone and hasn't destroyed anything and with some training will grow out of it. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Abby is fantastic with kids, but may knock little ones over in her excitement. She is unsure around other dogs at first and would need to meet any other dogs her lucky family may have before adoption. Abby would also be happy as an only dog and getting all of the attention and cuddles for herself! Abby is best without chickens or pocket pets .
For more information or to meet Abby, please contact her foster carer Kristi on 0403 081 260 or email belle_km@yahoo.com.au. Abby is located in Lemon Tree Passage, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Abby's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
