About Lizzy ~ (on trial 11/1/17)
Introducing the irresistible Lizzy –an 8 month old Cattle Dog x Bull Terrier girl. Lizzy is a ball of puppy sunshine, she has a happy and sweet temperament and is very loving – she loves everyone she meets and will happily give them kisses. You just want to melt and shower her with pats and cuddles which she will happily take all day long if cuddles are on offer!
Lizzy is very smart and has already learnt to sit for her dinner and she’s responded quickly to toilet training. Being so young and still in puppy stage she will need a family who will commit to further training to help her grow into a well-rounded adult dog. Because she is so eager to please and loves her food, she responds well to positive training methods (especially with chicken!). We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Lizzy is in foster care with 2 other dogs (one bigger and one small) and spends all day following them around. She particularly loves her bigger foster brother (a playful border collie cross) and she isn’t too fazed by the fact that her little foster brother (a pint sized terrier) can boss her around. Her foster carers work full time but being at home with her doggy pals all day doesn’t seem to bother her– she’s happy sunning herself on the deck or playing chasies around the yard whilst you’re away. Due to her affection for other dogs - we think that she would be best suited to a home with another friendly medium sized dog – particularly if you are a full time worker. When you get home from work she greets you with such excitement and joy that it’s like she hasn’t seen you for years!
Lizzy is happy to be either inside or outside as long as she has other dogs for companionship and isn’t isolated. As with most puppies, isolation is not good for them as they are so social. She currently spends most of the day outside whilst his carers’ are working but comes inside every evening for family time and for sleeping. She loves a walk each day to keep her stimulated and to give her the opportunity to meet new people.
Lizzy is good with teenagers, being so young she can be a little jumpy and nippy with kids when playing so she is best suited to a family teenagers who are used to playful, happy and affectionate dogs, and can respond to her accordingly when she gets overexcited. She would also suit an active couple of any age, or a person who can take her to work. Lizzy has a lot of love to give and is keen to meet her very own forever family who will give her the kindness and affection that she deserves.
For more information or to meet Lizzy, please contact her foster carer Laura on lauraa1710@gmail.com (preferred) or 0401 414 874 (outside of business hours) . Lizzy is in foster care near Erina, NSW 2260 (Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Lizzy's adoption fee is $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
