*LOUIS IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Hi there. The name is Louis! I’m a whippet, and a very handsome one, if I may say so myself!
I’m still a young bloke, just a pup …. 9 months old and FULL of energy and cheekiness. If you know anything about whippies you will realise that we are full on, love running and playing, adore our humans (but have a bit of an independent streak at times), very affectionate and loyal, love to learn new things (especially if food is involved), very kid friendly (as long as they aren’t in the way when we are belting around like lunatics!), and we don’t shed hair, smell doggy or drool! Oh yes …. we are also known as the clowns of the dog world …. we are very entertaining!
One thing you need to know about us whippies is that we have what’s called a high “prey drive” and will chase anything that runs (we LOVE running!) So although I have met a few cats and don’t worry about them when they are just sitting on the fence or wandering around, if one decided to run …. I would most likely chase after it –I can’t help it. So I need to be on a lead if I am outside of a secure place, it’s the sighthound in me!
I am a very intelligent and polite chap and know how to sit and bring back a ball, and I reckon that if you took me to puppy school I would be the star of the class! (Not that I’m bragging …. but I am a quick learner!). One thing I would REALLY REALLY love, is a home where I have another doggy friend to play with (I hate being by myself), otherwise I get bored and might jump a fence or dig up your garden. I love all dogs and will play for hours with them, especially other whippies. I need lots of exercise, but then I am happy to curl up next to you, put my head on your lap, and snooze for a few hours. I’m also excellent in the car and just doze off till we are where we are going.
I have a kennel, coat, collar and lead that can come with me to my new home. And as I am a skinny dog without much body fat, I really need to be able to spend time inside (I sleep inside at my foster parent’s farm and haven’t had an accident yet!) Just point me in the direction of a couch and I’ll be there! (We whippets are famous for finding the most comfortable spot in the house – whether it be a couch, or your bed!).
So please fill out an application form for me … otherwise my foster parents might not be able to give me up!
I look forward to meeting you! Cheers Louis x
PS: Did I say how handsome I am????
If you’ve got the loving forever home we’re after for adorable Louis then please download and complete a SARG Dog Adoption Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet/
Louis is desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and wormed.
Has had a Proheart yearly injection to guard against heartworm.
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
