About Anton ~ Jack Russell x (12/10/16)
Introducing Anton, a lovable, energetic Jack Russell X with the softest, low shedding fur.
Anton is 18 months old, and was recently rescued from the pound.
Since moving in with his foster family just a short time ago, he has learned to sit, wait for his food, walk in a harness and play fetch. He is highly intelligent and loves to learn; he has mastered toilet training, but may need a reminder in a new environment.
Anton's favourite thing is to play... and play and play! He also loves to cuddle and be near people; he is very loyal and will follow you everywhere.
He will need to be walked every day, as he has a lot of energy and walking helps him settle in the evenings. He can be let off for a run and will come when called.
Anton would be best suited to a home with either another small dog and/or young person to play with. He may not suit an older dog that needs their rest and he doesn't seem to get along with cats.
Anton will need a very secure yard, as he is quite the adventurer - though he has settled well with his foster family.
For more information or to meet Anton, please contact his foster carer Rebecca on 0447 793 684 or email mrsrstranger@gmail.com. Anton is in foster care in Rutherford, NSW (Maitland) and is available for adoption interstate.
Anton's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
