About Porter ~ cattle dog puppy ( on trial 9/12/16)
Porter is a 3 month old, male, red Australian Cattle Dog puppy. He is sweet, soulful little puppy who thinks life is so much fun. He thinks people are awesome and gets along very well with other dogs of all sizes.
We recommend puppy training classes for all puppies. Porter will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. He will grow up to be a medium sized dog. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 12 to 15 years.
Porter needs to be allowed inside when people are home, and to sleep inside. He will be great family companion. You will need good fencing with no small gaps. He cannot go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Porter. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
As Porter is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Porter, please phone his foster mum Lauren on 0400400789Please leave a detailed message and she'll ring you back. Porter is in Salt ash NSW (Port Stephens, near Newcastle).
Porter's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing and vaccinations and he has been treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
