About Kara ~ Labrador x (on trial 2/12/16)
Could you be Kara's forever home? If you are after a puppy that is loving, loyal and quiet, but who also enjoys the outdoors (especially the beach and park) then Kara may be the dog for you! Kara is a 3 month old, female, Labrador x Border Collie x Mastiff. She is sweet and affectionate and eager to explore the world.
Kara is the most sweet-natured, loving and loyal little puppy we have had the pleasure of caring for. She is super friendly with other dogs of all sizes and is learning to be gentle around children. She is especially well behaved around toddlers.
Kara is outgoing but not energetic. She loves nothing more than lots of cuddles and a lot of tummy rubs. She sleeps well both inside and outside. She is currently outside during the day with her other dog friends. She enjoys playing with other dogs and sleeping in the sunshine on her dog bed.
Kara is showing progress being house trained (when she sleeps inside at night she hasn't had an accident to date) and is responding well to basic training - being able to sit and wait for her food. Kara will need continued training to maximise her potential. We recommend puppy school and basic training for Kara.
Kara would suit an active family as she loves the beach (or any water play really). She walks well on the lead for her age. She currently lives with another dog who she adores and gets along well with. Kara must go to a home with a dog companion, who can continue to show her how to be calm and relaxed indoors and for her to play with outdoors.
For more information or to meet Kara, please contact her foster carer Amanda on 0438 660 547 or email cazmorris@yahoo.com.au. Kara is in foster care in Rutherford, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is not available for adoption interstate.
As Kara is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 5 months old.
Kara's adoption fee is $500 which includes her desexing, vaccination, treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
