Molly ~ 4mo Kelpie X puppy (On Trial 1/10/16)

Molly is a 4 month old Kelpie X. Molly has an absolutely beautiful nature, she is very friendly, loving, loyal and incredibly smart. She loves a good play and is always happy to get a pat and a cuddle.

Since being in foster care, Molly is going well with basic training and she responds really well to both treats and pats when she is a good girl. Being a puppy this training will be on-going. Developing a strong bond with her will benefit her response to you during training.

Full of puppy energy, she does tend to jump to greet. She usually responds when told to get down, but due to jumping she would be best suited to a home with kids 5 years and older. She would benefit from a home with a patient doggy friend to keep her company and/or somebody that doesn’t work full-time so she has company through the day.

Molly loves going outside for a play or a nap in the sun, but prefers sleeping inside of a night time and coming inside for a pat. Her ideal home would see her sleeping inside of a night until fully grown. She has learnt to go outside, or ask to go outside if she needs to go to the toilet. She has even learnt not to jump at the clothes on the clothes line.

Molly is very intelligent and curious so she needs secure fences with no small gaps. She cannot go to a house with rural fencing (mesh, chicken wire, etc). She sometimes needs reminding not to dig, but responds really well when told to stop. Having toys in these areas will avoid this as she gets distracted playing and forgets all about it.

Molly is incredibly clever, easy to train and enjoys being taught new tricks or playing games. She loves a good game of fetch, or hide and seek with treats to keep her mind active, and she likes a variety of toys to keep her busy. She will even play with a toy at your feet while you’re sitting, just to be close to you. She is good at coming when called, especially if there are no distractions.

Molly loves going for a walk, but she needs some encouragement and would benefit from daily walking to enhance her training on a lead. She has learnt to walk alongside her foster carer and stop at roads, but she could do with some socialisation to teach her how to act when she comes across another dog or person as she gets excited and likes to play and forgets she’s on a walk. She loves going for a drive, and is great in the car and will often nap or just look out the window while seated.

Molly is an absolute pleasure to have in the home, and anyone who meets her agrees that she is a beautiful girl and has plenty of love to give.

As Molly is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's 5-6 months old.
