About Neleh ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu (on trial 8/10/16))
Neleh is a 4 year old Maltese x Shih Tzu girl. She's a beautiful girl that adores getting lots of attention and love. She is very friendly with people, even with new people. She gets excited to go for a walk and is amazing on lead. If she is let off lead she will stay by your side and not run away. She doesn't dig or try to escape. She will only bark when there are noises and comes when you call her.
She would best suit a home where she is an only dog as she get snappy at other dogs. This only last for a few weeks until she gets to know them. She will benefit from further training and needs someone who is going to be patient and gentle with her.
Neleh is ok to be outside during the day soaking up the sun while you're at work. When she is outside she will play with toys and roll around in the grass. She prefers to be by your side as much as possible and would love to be a couch sloth and keep you company. She needs to be allowed inside when people are home and to sleep inside. She sleeps through the night without a peep. She is house trained. She's good in the car.
Neleh has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful. She is really good with a groomer and enjoys getting brushed.
She hasn't yet been tested with pocket pets or children (no information from her past) but if you have these, please contact me and I'll arrange to test her.
Neleh is a sweet, young girl who's had a rough start but is ready to be someone's best friend and have a wonderful new life.
For more information or to meet Neleh, please contact her foster carer Chontelle by texting 0477 779 534 or email to bubbles13.5.11@hotmail.com. Neleh is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Neleh's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. See all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
