About Molly ED0073
Molly is a really sweet girl with the most adorable ears! Since coming into foster care she has grown in confidence and her foster carer now describes her as lively, affectionate and spirited.
Molly is intelligent and obedient; she understands the command sit and responds to her name when called. Molly has not been allowed off the lead in public places so her recall has not been tested with other distractions. Molly is house trained; she used to sit and wait by the door in her previous home but now uses the doggy door in her foster home. Molly will sit for a treat, which she takes gently, and also waits patiently for the resident dog to have her treat first.
Molly is alert to noises outside the home and would make a good watchdog but this may not be suitable for people in apartment living – she will bark when people arrive, when they walk past the window and also at the neighbour’s dog when he pops his head over the fence. Apart from this she is quiet and doesn't bark for attention.
Molly loves to be active and lives for her daily walk - she does pull a bit on the lead and barks and pulls when she sees other dogs. We would require a commitment from Molly’s new home that she is taken to obedience classes to improve her lead walking and to give her the opportunity of further socialisation with other dogs in a safe and constructive environment.
Although Molly is always on the go she does settle down nicely at night. She wakes every morning between 5 and 5.30am and goes into her carer’s bedroom with the same look on her face 'why aren't you up yet...!'
Molly loves to play with the resident Shih Tzu and is very gentle - her favourite game is tug of war; it's so cute to watch them both! Molly loves soft toys but mostly to pull all the stuffing out although she doesn't chew anything else.
Molly is being fostered by a full-time worker - this has worked well as she has a small dog for company – we think that she would probably enjoy having a canine friend to live with. Molly will need to be introduced to bigger dogs to make sure they are compatible as she does seem to be nervous of them. Molly has not been tested with other species.
Molly has had little stability in her life and consequently her needs have not been met – she craves attention and so wants to be someone’s best friend. Molly has always lived with females but has been very accepting of men introduced to her - she has not been tested with children.
If you have an active home, are looking for a fun-loving dog that can be involved in everything you do and you can make the commitment to invest in Molly’s growth and potential then Molly could be the perfect dog for you.
