Buster ~ Foxy X boy (On Trial 17/10/16)

Introducing BUSTER, a 3 year old Foxy x who is a great lover of attention, cuddles, belly scratches and laying in your lap.

He is desexed, and house-trained. He has 24 hour access to inside and outside via a doggy door to enter and exit our house.

Buster is a very quiet dog, rarely barking, and he does not appear bothered by birds like magpies, kookaburras and cockatoos that reside in the trees behind our backyard.

He is not a digger, nor a fence-jumper. He has spent up to eight hours a day outside when we are both at work.

Buster does not bark at the doorbell, but will come to check out who the visitor is.

He does not appear to be a nuisance chewer although he has rescued a lonely shoe or sock at times, but they are always intact when found in his bedding.

Buster sleeps inside by choice on the lounge although he has inside bedding, and he has outside kennels and trampoline beds to choose from also when the weather is nice. I believe he would be on our bed if he could jump that high.

Buster came to Dog Rescue Newcastle a few months ago from a country pound, so we don’t have a lot of background information.
Someone has loved him very much in the past as he has several tricks in his repertoire – he does beg for food and attention. He is very gentle when he puts his paws on your knees and doesn’t drag his claws down your legs when hopping down.

He is just a little anxious of new people and places. He took about 3 or 4 days to warm up to us and not run away every time we stood up or came near him.

Buster does need a harness when walking as he is a little skittish of new sounds and other dogs. We have not yet tried him near or in water due to it being Winter and the resultant cold, damp weather.

Currently he lives with a working couple in Lambton NSW, who also have a senior blind dog. Buster is very tolerant around him.

Previously he lived with another younger doggy friend and they were great mates. He appears to be gentle and well-behaved around babies and small children. Buster is not good with cats.
