About Smiley Miley ~ Shepherd x ~ On Trial 25/11/2016
Introducing Miley - Miley is a 14 month old Mastiff x German Shepherd girl who can be best described as a big bundle of loveable goofy ! She is tall and has a stunning athletic build - if you love big gentle giants then Miley could just be the perfect girl for you.
Miley would suit a family who will take her for a walk daily - she loves to have a good sniff and explore her surroundings. Being such a large girl we'd suggest walking her with an easy-walk front clipping harness as she is a delight on one. Miley is playful and a delight to be around - she's a great mix of active and chilled out - which is typical of the Mastiff part of her breed mix. She's not highly energetic - she'll tell you when she's had enough and is ready to have a nap on the lounge .
Miley would enjoy a grassy fenced yard to run around and play chasies - she enjoys a short burst of zoomies which is quite hilarious too watch ! She doesn't last long though before she goes back into "cruising" Miley mode. ** Check out her videos on this profile ! **
Miley has been in foster care with children and she's great with them . She is very affectionate and gentle with them - she loves to give them kisses, she is very mindful with them and will take treats very gently from them when offered. Due to her large size we'd suggest matching her to a family with kids who are used to large breeds. She enjoys it when the kids play games or play in the yard her. She also loves tug-o-war and squeaky toys.
Miley would suit a family with members who are home throughout the day - being quite a young dog she would feel bored and isolated if left to her own devices all day long. She is extremely people focused so she's going to love spending time with you . She needs to be an inside/outside dog with access to inside when you are home. She needs to be able to sleep inside - she doesn't suit a home where she is left in the yard on her own.
Miley has been in foster care with multiple dogs and she's currently in a kennel environment with many dogs. Being a young female we think she would best suit a family with as an only dog. She can play very rough with other big dogs and many dogs don't understand her playing style . Interestingly , she is quite happy when meeting smaller dogs and she will adjust her mannerisms to accomodate them.
Miley is best without pocket pets, birds and cats - she has been in care with cats when she was younger however due to her size and enthusiasm we think she would be best to go to a home without them . Miley is a very smart and loyal girl who would excel with an owner who is confident and experienced with the gorgeous shepherd breed. With extra training Miley will grow into a majestic and well mannered adult.
Miley is a stunning girl with an affectionate, easy going personality to match her gorgeous good looks. She is a gem who loves her people , how can you not fall in love with her expressive eyes and pretty grin?

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
