Darchie

Darchie is a kelpie who we think is about 18 months old. He has been in foster care for about 3 weeks and is the most affectionate little fellow! He loves nothing more than being patted!
Darchie adores the company of both humans and dogs (he has not lived with cats yet). Darchie is the happiest “welcome home” reception you’ll ever get! His little rump wiggles uncontrollably until he plants it right in front of you, ready to be patted. Darchie is quite full of energy and loves to wrestle, rumble and play with his bigger foster brother. Although he can hold his own with bigger dogs, he also plays well with smaller dogs. With a morning and evening walk and playing in-between, Darchie would suit a family looking to add an active member.
Although Darchie is wonderfully affectionate, he is a little timid. He has been getting used to loud noises and is getting better at sitting, waiting, shaking and toilet training. He is a dream to walk on a lead, but will benefit greatly from obedience training. He is very good with eating and will need to keep putting weight on. Darchie likes to know where you are when home and will enjoy being by your side.
Darchie loves to be inside, but also enjoys his time outside. He would be best suited to a home where he would have access to both areas with company from another dog and/or an owner who is home the majority of the time.
He is a gentle, friendly and affectionate boy who would be the most wonderful addition to a loving home.
