About Oscar
Not suitable for young children due to jumping up and mouthing.
Single dog home because of no social skills which could lead to a tiff.
Hi my name is Oscar. I came from a pound so not much is known about me apart from the behavioural assessment, some of the notes are below.
I haven’t had any training but do know how to sit. so I really need someone to be patient with me and take me to obedience school which is a must so if you’re not willing to do that then please don’t apply for me.
Summary of Test –summary of observation and testing.
• Oscar is a very energetic dog with very high drive levels
• Generally friendly to humans but not sociable (lacks social skills)
• Easily over-excitable with notable escalation of arousal levels at times of excitement and activity
• He is a very athletic dog and will jumps very high and uses the human as a spring board
• Becomes mouthy when excited, biting hands, arms and legs
• Very wriggly to touch and restraint and will need a lot of work on this
• High drive, loves tug game
• Has no obedience skills and pulls a lot on the lead
• Nil reaction to sudden noises and changes in the environment.
• May not be very good playing with other dogs.
Adoption Criteria
• Experienced and very active owners only.
• Will make a great running partner or sport dog (agility) after some training
