About Max and Chia
These two beautiful Shih Tzu x Bichon are brother and sister and have never been apart. They need a loving home together where they can enjoy all the comforts that they are used to and be a loving part of a family.
The owner of this little boy Max and his sister Chia was reluctant to surrender her cherished pets to us but her current work commitments with foster children had to take precedence over her dogs.
Max and Chia really are a delightful pair - Max is the quieter of the two, Chia is more outgoing and the "boss" it would seem. Like lots of dogs, they are a bit stand-offish when they first meet you, but they soon come around.
These babies much be allowed access indoors twenty four hours a day and, of course, must sleep inside at night. They love to play outside during the day, when they are not sleeping - secure colour bond (or similar) fencing and locked gates are essential to keep them protected.
Max and Chia have just recently been groomed and their coat is very short - this is a timely reminder that TICK SEASON has commenced in Port Macquarie and as a precaution against the deadly tick, they should be kept well groomed throughout tick season. Tick preventative should also be applied, such as Advantix.
We have no doubt that these little dogs will make beautiful companions to the right family. Applications to adopt Max and Chia are now being accepted and will be judged on their merits and suitability as they are received.
Our monthly Pet Adoption Day will be held on Saturday, 24th September, at PETstock on Lake Road, between 9am and 12pm when our dogs awaiting adoption will be available for viewing. Please note: Interest in any dog can be registered on the day, but the adoption process is not complete until references have been checked and a property inspection undertaken.
For further details on Max and Chia, please email or phone Midcoast Dog Rescue.

.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
