About Skipper ~ 7yo Kelpie x ~ On Trial 1/10/16
Hi I'm Skipper and I'm a 7 year old kelpie x gentleman. I'm a pretty sensible fellow, and I'd make a wonderful companion for a single person or couple wanting a loyal and easy going best mate.
I'm very smart as are most kelpies so I'm easy to train . I'm not highly energetic like some kelpies - I'm happy to join you for a daily walk or jog and I'm equally content to find a sunny spot in the yard to have a long snooze. I'm fine off lead once I know you , I won't bolt like some dogs - I'm just content to have a sniff and wander and then return to you when called.
I would be great on small acreage or a hobby farm where I can trot along beside you and we can do chores together . I would also do well on a normal size house block with a daily walk. I love clam pools - one of my favourite past times is to splash around in the water and then lay in the dirt to cool my belly! So I would do well if you live near a beach or lake and can take me walking and exploring there.
My perfect home is one with just adults as I'm not comfortable with children. It's possible that I've had some negative experiences with visiting kids in the past so I'm best away from them. In an environment with only adults I'm a dream. If you are older and your kids have all left the nest then I might be perfect for you . I would also suit a younger single or couple who don't have kids or have no kids planned.
I'm good with other dogs as I'm used to being around many other dogs where I'm living right now. Although I'm not a huge player I do appreciate their company and running around with other dogs. I would be fine in a fur ever home with another dog or on my own . I'm used to sleeping outside - however I'll happily sleep inside if it's on offer .
If you would like to find out more information about me please contact Jo on Jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com or 0427 695 104 (after business hours). I am in foster care in Morisset on the NSW Central Coast.
My adoption fee of $300 covers my microchipping, vaccination, desexing , registration with council and flea and worm treatments.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
