About Molly
Molly has settled into foster care very well, participating in all aspects of family activity. She has gained the confidence to start playing with toys and particularly loves the squeaky variety. Molly has basic training and will do anything for a treat. Whilst still learning some basic commands, she is eager to learn and to please. Like any canine companion she will require ongoing training.
Molly needs a family that will make the effort to make her feel secure, fall in love with her minor quirks and bond with her by including her in all aspects of the family.
She is an absolute lovebug, thoroughly enjoying tummy rubs, head scratches and being groomed. When she isn't curled up at your feet, she is often found in her bed catching a few Zs or cuddling up to one of her foster siblings.
Molly currently lives with teenaged children, but has previously resided with very young children of all ages. She has proven herself very reliable around children of all ages, but as with any dog, very young kids should be supervised and taught how to treat our canine counterparts.
At night, she sleeps in her crate and when we rise, greets us with a howl (to which we all participate). She has proven to be perfect with cats and after an initial, neutral meeting with other dogs, warms to them quickly. Her meal time manners are improving daily.
Molly requires a good walk at least once a day. Other than meal times, she lives for her walks. She is always very excited to get out the door and thrives because of them. She is good on the lead and has good recall. Molly is also good in the car, and loves a trip around town.
Molly will need a family with solid and high fencing as she can scale regular sized fences when she is bored and/or left alone. In the company of family or other dogs in the yard she stays put and once she feels secure and bonded with her family, will most likely not want to escape. Molly is often kept inside when we go out/leave for work and she chills out until we get home, not destroying anything. With the warmer weather upon us, she is increasingly being left outside during the day where she likes to lounge around in the sun or on her outdoor bed on the patio. She is also often playing with her foster siblings.
