Bruno ~ American Bulldog (on trial 20/10/16)

We’d like to introduce our big boy Bruno. This lad’s a beautiful 6 year old American bulldog that wants nothing more than good company and a nice spot to bask in the sun.

He wouldn’t make a particularly good guard dog as he’s a pretty quiet bloke and he’s far too friendly! He absolutely adores people and will spend as much time with them as he can. Given this, we’re looking for a person or family that will have someone home most of the time. He can sleep inside or outside but would much prefer to be inside with the family.

He’s a very boisterous, strong boy and likes to chase cats and smaller animals so he would need a home with no cats or children under 5 (so that he doesn’t accidentally knock the little ones over with his exuberant affection).

We haven’t seen him with other dogs so if you have a dog we would just need to see how they get on. Given his size, we think he would be better suited to a medium to large dog for a playmate.

He’s fit and healthy and certainly isn’t a fussy eater – though he can sometimes make a bit of a mess when he eats because he’s just so excited. He’s very food oriented but doesn’t have the longest attention span in the world so training may take a little while. That being said, he’s toilet trained and has responded well to the things he’s been taught whilst we’ve had him. He can sit, stay, and comes when called.

He’s fine in cars and travels well though is a bit of a fidgeter if he’s in the back. If he gets to sit up front in the passenger seat he’s very well behaved as he’s nice and close to his family.

He will mostly laze around and sleep but he gets energetic at times and enjoys chasing his toys, especially ones that make a noise. He loves his daily walks too so that he can burn off a bit of that energy. He’s a good walker (though will pull ahead a bit in his excitement) and knows that he’s a good looking bloke so he tends to strut his stuff out in the street.

In the evenings he would love to lie with you on the couch watching tv. He’s a bit of a romantic and will happily spend an evening with his head in your lap, staring lovingly into your face. As long as you don’t mind occasionally getting a bit of drool on your lap, he’s the man for you!

As long as Bruno can run around a bit, go for walks and laze in the sun he’ll be a happy dog – but his number one request is to spend as much time as possible with you!
