About Daisy
Lets set the scene... you are part of a loving family all your life. You are a loyal and true friend, sweet and well behaved. You get older and then a new younger dog comes into the home; he plays too rough and sometimes you get snappy with him. But you are still gentle and loving with the kids, still the same family member as always. Then one day your family decides that you are just an inconvenience. They are moving house again and say it would be "too much" for an old dog like you. So they take you to the vet.... unbeknownst to you, something terrible is about to happen. But then the day that was almost your last, becomes the first day of the rest of your life!
This is Daisy's story. She was discarded like an old piece of furniture but struck it lucky and is now in foster care awaiting a new home where she can live out her retirement.
Daisy is a sweet, clever and inquisitive girl and her energy levels belie her age - she walks every day with her foster mum, two kilometres or more! She is independent and not too in-your-face but also likes a good cuddle and will snuggle with you on the bed or couch if you let her. Daisy doesn't mind being left home alone but also enjoys company so will suit a variety of homes.
She gets on fine with cats (totally indifferent to them) but would prefer to be an only dog in her older years and needs a home without chickens or small pets (even for an old girl, she doesn't mind a bit of a chase!)
She may be slightly deaf or may just have 'selective' hearing when life is how she wants it to be and you can't really blame her for that. Aside from this, Daisy has no apparent health problems at all, she is sprightly and strong. This compact little girl is also a perfect size, small enough that she won't take up much room on the couch but not so little you trip over her all the time!
Daisy will suit someone who is seeking companionship without too much neediness, a walking buddy and a pal to lounge around at home when the weather is no good. She may not have as many years ahead of her as a lot of other dogs, but she deserves another chance just as much. Can you be Daisy's hero??
Due to her age we are dropping our normal adoption fee down to $200 which still includes all vet work.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
