Lily ~ On Hold Pending Adoption 17/9/16

Lily is a sweet, gentle and friendly 7-year-old Foxie x Jack Russell Terrier girl. Lily just loves attention and is most happy being by your side, whether that is sitting on the lounge, driving in the car or going for a walk. Lily is quiet and easy going and a pleasure to have around. Lily would suit a couple of any age or a family with older children. She can be a nervous with a lot of noise and action so we prefer that she go to a home with kids above 13 years.

Lily’s perfect home will be one where she is an inside dog (she must sleep inside) but with access to a yard so that she can laze the day away in the sun (sunbaking is one of her favourite past times!). At night, Lily goes into her doggy bed where we wrap her in her blanket and she stays there until morning. She would be equally happy to sleep on your bed, if she was allowed.

Lily is fine if left at home while you go out, she will usually just sleep until you return. She is always so happy to greet you at the door when you return. If you’ve been out all day she loves you to then take her for her afternoon walk. Lily is completely cat friendly and is currently living with 3 cats in her foster home. She can be a little nervous at first when she meets other dogs but is very friendly when she gets to know them.

Lily is toilet trained - she happily uses the doggy door. If there is no doggy door, she will let you know that she needs to go outside. Lily very rarely barks, usually only if she is startled by a strange noise. She is loyal and will attach herself to whoever she feels most comfortable with in the household.

Lily is unsure about toys and playing as she has come from a home where there were older people, who may have not been able to play with her. In foster care we have been trying to socialise her with other dogs who love to play, and introduce toys in order for her to learn how to do play. She can sometimes be a little nervous around people or places that are not familiar to her, however, once she becomes more comfortable she is happy to explore and relax.

Lily is an absolute delight to care for and she will make a sweet, loving and loyal companion.
