About Lexie (Dog/Child Friendly)
When you see those Irish eyes are smiling, you can be sure they belong to our Irish Wolfhound Mix girl Miss Lexie a sweet and ever so gorgeous female of 18 months.
Lexie has the appearance of a noble and commanding and a maybe even intimidating, but beneath her shaggy eyebrows, and twinkle eyes is a sweet, gentle soul.
Lexie is a gentle giant who gets along with everyone, Lexie is in foster care with children aged 7 and 9 years, and a multi dog household. Lexie is still realising just how big she is and best to be with medium to large dogs, due to her size. Lexie is enjoying daily walks with her family and walks besides you on a lead. Lexie is LOW to MEDIUM energy level but otherwise she's satisfied to be a couch potato. Lexie is 48cm at the shoulders and 30kg body weight.
Lexie has basic obedience training, of walking on a lead beside you, can SIT, SHAKE, DROP, is learning to ROLL OVER (currently a half roll) and knows commands of YES and NO, COME, LEAVE IT and STOP. Her recall inside the home, backyard, and on an extended lead is excellent. Lexie is FULLY CRATE TRAINED and TOILET TRAINED INSIDE the home.
Lexie will require secure fencing to keep her safe, but has not shown to be an escape artist or displayed destructive behaviours in foster care. Lexie although has a deep bark, is NOT a watch dog. Lexie when excited does jump up, and due to her size may knock over a small child, we are working hard to correct this behaviour in foster care.
Like any dog, the an Irish Wolfhound isn't the breed for everyone and although Lexie is not as big as an Irish Wolfhound, she is classified as a large dog. But if you're looking for a companion who will fill your life with love, admiration, and sloppy kisses, then look no further.
Lexie has NOT been tested with cats or pockets pets. Please note we do not hold dogs and all existing dogs in the family are encouraged to come and meet Lexie prior to adoption. A meet and greet can be arranged (weekends preferred). Lexie is to interested in SMALL dogs, and picks on them, with her size. Best to say Lexie is MEDIUM to LARGE dog home only.
Lexie is located on Central Coast in Green Point, NSW where is lives with her foster family.

Adoption details
Wally's Doggie Rescue offers a 2 week trial period to ALL pups/dogs adopted by us. We give ongoing support to our adopters through a CLOSED FACEBOOK page where you can ask training questions, share your photos and chat to other people who have adopted a Wally's Doggie rescue animal. Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
When enquiring about LEXIE, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home (rental agreement to be sited), what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you. Wally's Doggie Rescue would also arrange a yard check of your property or have photos/videos sent of your yard, to ensure it is fully fenced and adequate shelter is provided.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
