About Patrick
Patrick is your typical playful puppy, he is curious and adventurous and loves to run and play ball. His foster mum is super proud of how well Patrick is picking up basic training and manners and knows he is going to make his new family really happy! Patrick loves to go on adventures to the beach and the park. He gets along well with other dogs, although he is very rough and tumble so needs a doggy companion who can keep up with him.
Given Patrick's breed (Border Collie x Labrador) his new home will need to commit to keeping Patrick active both mentally & physically. he is a very smart boy who needs lots of mental stimulation to keep him occupied. Patrick loves toys and his foster mum rotates his toys to keep him interested.
Patrick would do well in a home with other dogs. He lives with cats in his foster home, however he can be playful so supervision around cats is essential.
Patrick is fine for a family with older children but would not be ideal for young kids and toddlers as he may knock them over.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.

Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly, Browns Plains, Jindalee or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
