About Digger (adoption pending)
Darling old Digger found himself homeless this year after his elderly owner passed away. He is a low maintenance well mannered old boy just looking for a loving home to enjoy his senior years.
As with a lot of older dogs, Digger is deaf and does have a few health issues but these are all now managed with medication.
He has a heart murmur as well as cushings disease, which means he will require medication for both for the rest of his life.
This lovely old gent has proven to be the ideal houseguest. He quietly goes about his business without annoying anyone. He is not bothered by other animals or small children as long as they give him space and let him have his daily snooze.
If you are looking for a chilled out companion to spend your days at home with then Digger is your man.
Medical notes
Digger was diagnosed with a heart murmur, but this is now being managed with daily medication. Even though he will require this medication for the rest of his life, it does not deter him from living a full life.
He was also diagnosed with Cushings Disease, for which daily medication is a necessity. Since starting this medication he has shown a new lease of life.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
