About Amadeus and Mozart
Where do we even begin to describe these wonderful boys? There just aren't enough wonderful words in the English language to sum them up, but we will try.
These extremely handsome brothers are strikingly attractive, this is the first thing to draw you in. Their smokey grey coats are just delightfully soft and beg to be patted. Amadeus (with the shorter coat) could be a super model, he loves to pose for the camera and show off every good-looking angle - his brother Mozart (the majestically fluffy one) is so busy trying to smooch you and your camera that getting a good pic can be a challenge. These lovely fellas found themselves in a pound in the Wheatbelt - they were in very rough condition, sick with chest infections and riddled with fleas and yet they were still smoochy and affectionate from the word go.
Mozart is more confident, he waltzes up to everyone he meets for pats and attention, he loves to be the star of the show and you will fall in love with him in a heartbeat.
Amadeus can take just a little more time to warm to new people but once he knows you, this guy will be your best friend for life. The most unique and heart-snatching feature of lovely Amadeus is his eyes and, more to the point, the look he gives you. Multiple people who have met him have quickly commented on his piercing gaze and the truly adoring way he stares at the people he cares about.
Adopting Amadeus and Mozart will not just be getting pets - these guys are truly family and will be a delightful presence in your home. They need saving, but secretly they know that they need to save you. Like their namesake, they will create beautiful music and a rhythm in your home that you didn't even know it was missing.
Amadeus and Mozart will need to be indoor only cats or have access to a secure cat enclosure, due to Amadeus' FIV status (read more below!) and Mozart's desire to beat the living daylights out of other cats that aren't his brother (growing up on a wheatbelt farm is tough, okay. He learned some serious street smarts - but he would never think of scratching or hurting a human!)
These stunners are a ready made family, perfect for a home with a single person or couple looking to make their cats become their children. If you want a little music in your life, look no further than Amadeus and Mozart!
Medical notes
Amadeus has tested positive for FIV, the feline immunodeficiency virus (similar to HIV in people, though definitely not transmissable to us!)
You can read more about FIV here: https://www.petrescue.com.au/library/articles/caring-for-cats-with-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
Amadeus is currently healthy and well. He battled a chest infection for a while, but has overcome that with guns blazing and is now in prime condition. SAFE Avon Valley will always be willing to assist you to access reduced-cost veterinary care for Amadeus in the future if this is required.
Please don't let his condition deter you from considering bringing Amadeus and Mozart into your lives. We will be very happy to answer any questions you may have about this or anything else!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
