Richie ~ 7mo Wolfhound X (on trial20/08/16

Richie is a 7 month old Wolfhound X boy - he is THE perfect dog, and I’m not just saying that!

Richie is house trained, great with children and other dogs (including puppies and small ‘pocket pets’), likes travelling in the car, eats practically everything you put in front of him, is affectionate and super friendly. He shares a living space with a large bird cage with lorikeets and he’s never bothered them.

Richie enjoys playing rough with his younger foster brother (staffy x) and foster daddy. When he’s not too excited, he’s very gentle with his human toddler and preteen. He is still very much a puppy, so when excited he can jump and knock little ones over, but this can be easily be fixed with more training.

He enjoys his walks but is still learning how to walk beside instead of in front of his walker, and he likes to lay down on comfy grass during his walks (we’re not sure why, it’s a bit odd!). Richie is used to sleeping in a laundry with access to outside, but I’m sure he would LOVE to sleep inside with his human!

The only time he’s been heard barking is when he is playing with his foster brother, otherwise when he’s alone the neighbours dogs don’t entice him to bark back at them. He can let out a puppy howl if left alone outside for what he feels is too long. He loves being with people and other dogs. He’s had no interest in jumping the fence to get to neighbouring dogs.

Richie’s current foster carers are strongly tempted to adopt him themselves, he’s just that great!
