About Simon
Applications can be made via the link below:
http://www.newbeginningsari.org.au/adopt/dog-adoption/
Simon is a Chinese crested powder puff. He has had a hard start to life and is very wary of people. He has bonded with his foster mum in care but this took about 2 weeks for him to feel comfortable. His new human will have to be very patient and understanding to give Simon the space he needs to find his confidence.
Once he has bonded he loves a cuddle and will sit with you on the couch. He also likes to sleep on the bed but he is ok to sleep in the lounge room as well.
Simon likes other dogs and he definitely needs a female doggy companion to play with and rough and tumble. He is happiest with his doggy playmates.
He is timid with strangers so a single person household would be ideal. A busy home with lots of visitors and noise would not suit Simon at all. He needs a quiet home where he can learn about the real world in his own time and not feel pressured. He is frightened of the lead and this will be a very long process to get him to take walks. He may never be comfortable with walking on lead.
Simon would love to live where there is someone around a lot to give him lots of attention and love but no children please. He would benefit from a good routine and consistency. He will need regular grooming as he has a coat that will matt easily without care. He will also require a very understanding and gentle groomer or ideally his owner will be happy to tidy up his coat as needed. The less we stress him the better.
Simon has been through a lot and with need love and patience to help him transition to his forever home. Please only apply if you feel you can provide the type of home that Simon needs.
