About “Tony”, A whole new world, Brisbane
For newly-rescued greyhounds, becoming a pet can be both wonderful and bewildering. Tony is on a heart-warming voyage of discovery, learning all the things a pet dog has to know. He’s figured out that car rides are great fun; stairs are climbable if you put your mind to it; and squeaky toys might be fun to play with (although he’s still learning how!) Tony has a clever brain and a strong, independent nature, and is keen to discover as much as he can about this strange new world.
Like many greyhounds new to pet life, Tony’s preferences for company are currently (in order): other greyhounds, other dogs, then humans. He shows signs of becoming a very loving dog in future, bouncing excitedly when his foster carers get home, and sometimes following them around. Whoever adopts Tony will have the honour of developing the special bond that slowly emerges, as rescued dogs learn to love and trust their human companions.
Tony is completely house-trained, and is happy as an inside dog (with his canine foster brother for company) while his carers work. He’s unlikely to be suitable for living with cats or young children (he’s too bouncy), but would be perfect for a mature household who want the unique joy of showing a rescued greyhound how wonderful the world can be.
