About Polly ~ Shih tzu x Maltese, 7yo (On Trial 9/8/16)
Gorgeous Polly is a 7 year old Shih Tzu x Maltese looking for someone who will give her lots of cuddles and take her on a daily walk (the highlight of her day). Polly gets excited about exploring to see what’s happening around her. Meeting the neighbours and children in the area is also an absolute joy, as is having a chase with another friendly four legged friend or two. Everyone is totally amazed how quiet she is, to hear her bark is sometimes a shock, so if you want a dog that’s also a door bell, it’s definitely shouldn’t be Polly.
At home Polly likes to spend lots of time outside, sometimes her nose may get a little dirty chasing lizards but luckily she isn’t much of a digger. She is definitely an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. She knows to use the doggy door so is completely toilet trained. She likes to sleep on her own cozy bed or get spoilt on someone person’s bed if they will let her.
Polly would be ideal for a lot of different families; a single person looking for a special friend, a family with older kids, or someone looking for a playmate for their small dog. Anyone who would love her and meet her simple needs would be perfect for her. She only really needs love, a daily walk and care for her beautiful non-shedding coat (brush, bath, clipping).
For more information or to meet Polly, please contact her foster carer Karen on jk88scott@gmail.com, or phone Jason on 0434 747 816. Polly is in foster care in Floraville, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Polly's adoption fee is $300 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
