About Midge ~ 8yo Jack Russell girl (on trial 27/08/16)
Midge is a gorgeous, energetic, little Jack Russell girl - approximately 8 years old. Midge is looking for a loving forever home and would be suited to a family with children of any age or an older person.
Midge loves playing fetch and going for walks, exploring the neighbourhood. She would follow her owner around all day if she could! Midge also loves playing with balls, toys or socks from the laundry. She loves her walks and visits to the park or beach, but she shouldn't be off lead until she has had further training to teach her to return when called.
She gets along well with adults and children of all ages. Midge would suit an older person as she is a lightweight dog and she is gentle. She can get a little jumpy and excited if she hasn't seen anyone for a few hours, but she does settle down quite quickly. Midge is currently living with a family with 2 children (aged 4 and 5) - she does love being cuddled by them and has settled in really well. Unfortunately she isn't suited to a house with other dogs, cats or pocket pets – she would prefer to be the only pet. She is toilet trained but does have the occasional accident every now and then (seems to be linked to being nervous or excited).
Midge is only small, and would prefer to go to a home where she is allowed to sleep and live indoors. She is most happy when she's by your side, lazing around, chilling on the lounge or keeping you company in the yard (although she will always try to convince you to play fetch!). Midge will make a great addition to a family that can give her the love and attention she needs. She has a nervous nature, so will take time to get used to her new home, but once she is comfortable in her surroundings she is a beautiful, loving companion.
For more information or to meet Midge, please contact her foster carer Kylie on 0409 989 905 (preferred) or kyliefeeney@outlook.com. Midge is located in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Midge's adoption fee is $200 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
