About Cookie ~ 2yo Staghound x BC (On Trial 19/11/16)
Cookie is a cheeky, fun loving 2 year old Staghound (similar to a Wolfhound) x Border Collie boy. Medium sized. He is a lovable, cuddly fellow who gets on well with everyone – even cats!
Cookie loves to run around and spend time playing with his foster buddy Frankie. He also likes chasing a ball and playing tug of war with chew toys with his doggy friends. He loves a play but will always prefer a cuddle and pet. He can ‘sit’ and ‘stay’, but would love to do some more training and learn new tricks. Cookie is an energetic boy who would love a forever home with a family who will take him on a daily walk or run. He’d make a great joking companion and would excel at doggy sports like agility or Fly Ball. He would also loves mental stimulation like puzzle games and interactive toys.
Cookie sleeps indoors and has learnt how to use a doggy door to take himself out to the toilet. He adores his human family and just loves to be with them, especially at night while watching TV and he loves to supervise you as you go about your daily chores. Cookie would suit an active family with older kids who are used to medium to large breed dogs. He can jump a little when he gets excited so older kids who aren’t accidentally knocked over are a good match for him.
We would like Cookie to go to a family where there are family members around during the day, or to someone who will give him a good run in the morning and afternoon if they are full time workers. He would love a canine friend to play with, and a good size yard so he can do zoomies when he has energy to burn. He is very good with cats, he has not been tested with pocket pets yet.
Cookie would be an ideal companion as he just loves to be loved. For more information or to meet Cookie, please contact his foster carer Alex at alexsefton@hotmail.com or 0424 352 050. Cookie is located in Wallsend, NSW 2287 (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Cookie's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
