Axle and Leila are Maltese x Poodle and an extremely bonded brother and sister duo. Axle is the larger of the two weighing approx. 4.5kg and Leila smaller at approx. 3.4 kg. These two both need to gain a little more weight and don't require a lot of exercise.
They need a home where they can lay on the couch at their leisure and where their humans don't mind them inside most of the time. If encouraged outside they will not stay out long as they like to know where you are. They will do well in a home with an older person or couple who are home most of the time. They don't mind children but not in their face and pulling at them. Axle will jump up on your lap to be nursed or just want to share a lounge chair with you. Leila likes to be nursed but prefers if you lift her on to your lap for a nurse and cuddle.
They like to sleep a lot and have been used to sleeping in a crate while with their foster carer, and not interested in having individual beds. This could change in their forever home. They are not very interested in toys although occasionally have shown some interest in small soft teddies.
As they still need to gain a little weight and being small dogs, they do best on two small meals a day and a dog biscuit and treat midday.
Leila will sometimes have a little accident inside which she may not do once in a new home and fully settled. She gets anxious if for any reason she loses sight of Axle. They tolerate car travel at this point without any problems.
