About Charli
Charli is a little sweetheart who is now learning what it's like to be loved and cared for. She was diagnosed with 'dry eye' a number of years ago, but unfortunately had not been treated for it until now. Her ears were badly infected and she did not take kindly to people touching either, which is understandable as they were obviously causing her alot of pain.
Charli has now been in Wally's care for 1 week, and already she has come so far. She will allow her carer to clean her eyes and apply the medication required, apply her ear drops without it being a battle and her carer has worked hard to desensitize her to touch around the ears and feet.
This girl is thriving! She is in care in a family environment with older children and 3 other dogs. Although she is dog friendly, Charli does not cope well with dogs who are in her face and wanting to play all the time. She would much prefer to hang out with her humans and seems to attach herself to one person in particular and become their shadow.
Up until just recently, Charli has not shown any interest in toys, but this is definitely something that could change once she is settled and feeling herself again. She is now starting to show interest which is fantastic! Charli has now learnt how to use a doggie door and will take herself out to the toilet as long as access is provided. She sleeps inside on her carers bed and enjoys the warmth of sleeping close to you, or on you!
Charli is fussy when it comes to food. She is starting to eat some dry kibble, but much prefers human food. This is obviously what she was used to in her previous home. Charli enjoys a good snuggle on the lounge and seems to be now enjoying the affection she gets from her foster family.
The ideal home for Charli would be one in which she was either an only dog, or a companion for an older, less playful dog. Children over the age of 8yrs is recommended due to her nipping on occasions, although this was shown more so before treatment had started on her ears and therefore could have been due to pain. A home where she will be provided with the ongoing medical treatment for her 'dry eye' and shown what it's like to be part of a family.
Charli will come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. She is located in Lake Munmorah, on the Central Coast NSW and available for adoption now.
Medical notes
Charli has 'dry eye' which will require ongoing treatment for life.

Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
