Lilly ~ 10mo Border Collie X (On Trial 1/9/16)

Hi! My name is Lilly and I am a 10 month old short coat Border Collie X girl. I am on the small side for a border collie, but I still have a lot of energy and I also have a lovely temperament.

I would love to go to home where someone would take me out for a walk every day or even a run! I would also love it if I got cuddles every day and had a human to follow around and love forever, does that sound like you?

I would only like to go to a home where there is another dog as I don’t like to be by myself. I am fine being outside if I have a dog to play with, but preferably one that is my size or bigger and also playful. I don’t mind being home while my humans are out at work all day so long as I have another doggy friend with me. I am a good girl both inside and outside – I am relatively well toilet trained and am happy to sleep either inside or outside (so long as I have a warm sheltered place and a jacket in cold weather if I am outside). I love to cuddle inside too and will nestle in with you while you watch a movie or relax. I love affection and just want to curl up with you.

I love to play-wrestle with my foster dog siblings, play tug of war and chase each other around and then have big sleeps. I will chase a ball if you throw it, but only bring it back sometimes. I prefer the other dogs to chase the ball and then I chase them - that’s way more fun! I also love a good chew toy or kong to keep me occupied for a while figuring out how to get all the food out.

One of my favourite things is food. I love it! I will eat all day if you let me. I’m not very fussy and I also love some veg to chew on like a carrot or broccoli stem. I especially love my treats! I love liver treats, pigs ears and bones! I will sit and watch you so intently if I see you have dog treat for me. I am still learning my manners with food that is not for me, but I am getting better and will also sit and wait for my dinner until I am told I can eat it.

I am still a puppy and I do need some more basic training to learn some more commands, but because I love food so much I think it will be easy to teach me. My foster parents think I am very good girl because I come when I am called and they say I am a very clever dog. I’m very good at ‘sit’ and am learning how to ‘drop’ and ‘stay’.

I love people and even love kids! I am very good with kids as young as 2-3 years old (though I should always be supervised). I also love dogs and am fine meeting new dogs if you want to take me out to the beach or dog parks. I sometimes chase cats, but am getting along ok with the 2 cats at my foster home as they are used to dogs.
