About George - Labrador x
Meet Mr Happy!! This is George, a 1 year old Labrador x. He is such a happy boy and just wants to be everybody’s friend. This handsome boy has a really sweet nature, he loves all people and all dogs he meets, I don’t think he has an aggressive bone in his body.
George is happy to be in the backyard during the day and loves to come inside at night for some family time. He loves pats, belly rubs and cuddles; he especially likes it when you cuddle his big boofy head. After getting a pat he is quite happy to curl up in a ball and go to sleep on his bed. He is house trained and has not had an accident while in foster care.
While George is very affectionate and loves people, he doesn’t jump up or lick much at all. He prefers to get pats and cuddles.
George loves going for walks and still being a pup he has lots of energy, so he needs daily walks. He is easy to walk and doesn’t pull much on the lead. George likes to say hi to all people and dogs that he meets on the way. Being the social butterfly that he is, he wants to play and be friends with all dogs, even the ones that are not so friendly.
He is in foster care with a 4 year old Rottweiler who he just loves to play with. George is best suited to a home with another dog as a playmate. He has barked a few times while in care, but he is not a nuisance barker. He has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
George has sleek and smooth low maintenance coat that dries very quickly after a bath and will need occasional brushing. George will need further training but being a Labrador he should learn quickly and has a lot of potential.
George’s ideal forever home will be one where he is exercised regularly and will be included as part of the family. He would be happy to have a doggie friend or would be okay as an only dog if he receives lots of attention and play time.
For more information or to meet George, please contact Donna on 0466 099 426 or trudgetty@hotmail.com . George is in foster care in Charlestown NSW 2290.
George's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
