Balou - the curly coated Retriever cross

Balou is a beautiful 5-6 months old curly coated retriever/ Labrador cross (maybe some brown kelpie thrown in the mix as well J ) who would probably do well in a home that would challenge him with obedience classes, agility or similar. He loves fetching his toys and playing games with you.

Balou is currently living with three children aged 4 to 8 and is great with them. He especially loves cuddling on the couch with his little humans. Balou is also good with other dogs and cats, currently living with another female dog and two cats. His foster kitten sister is one of his best buddies.

Balou is toilet-trained, crate-trained at night and has a very good recall. He can be a bit wary of some strangers. He can be a bit overexcited and jumpy at times, being a typical pup, but listens quickly to commands. He would excel in formal obedience classes, as he wants to be challenged and loves pleasing his humans.

Balou’s forever home will need to let him be dominantly an indoor dog, as he doesn’t particularly enjoy being left alone outside. A friendly dog as companion or a home where someone is home a lot would be ideal. In his current foster home, Balou has been trusted to stay alone inside as he is not destructive and just hangs out on the couch waiting for you to come back.
