Morgan

Everyone meet Morgan, a beautiful, loving, red heeler/kelpie mix. Morgan is an active girl, loves her walks, following you around and playing with the other active dogs currently in her foster home.

Morgan was raised with a young child and has been exposed to children of all ages. She is not too boisterous and would settle nicely into an active family lifestyle, where she is welcomed into the home each day and included in daily activities. Our one on one time in which she follows me around town to run errands is a great way we have bonded and Morgan seems to enjoy every minute of it. She is a well behaved car passenger as well.

Morgan is brilliant on and off the leash. Her recall has strengthened while in foster care and she is trusted to run around when out, coming back every time she is called. Morgan was known for not listening to what was asked of her in her previous home, therefore she will require ongoing training and socialisation in order to help her bond with her future owner and learn to listen better. She has already improved in this area, and has shown she is eager to please but simply unsure of how to do that.

She will benefit from an owner experienced in dog behaviour and training.

As Morgan is an active girl, she will require daily physical and mental stimulation to ensure she does not become bored, disobedient and destructive. Considering her breed she may also love to be involved in herding or agility classes. However, this would be as a fun side activity and not necessarily a condition of her adoption.

As previously mentioned, she is well behaved when around children and would make an excellent addition to an active family. Perhaps one with older children who can run around and help to exercise her.

Morgan will need a home where she will have lots of room to run and a male doggy companion to keep her company and help her settle in. She does not cope too well on her own for long periods of time. She has been quite the fence jumper when left alone, so high, sturdy fences will be required.

We would prefer a home with no cats as Morgan has not been tested and we are unsure if chasing them is something she would view as fun.
