About Lilly
Lilly is a beautiful, quirky little girl who just loves to be with her person. She is completely devoted to those she knows and loves and would benefit from being adopted by someone who is home most of the time. Lilly would be happy being an only dog, however if there is another dog in the household it would be best to be a calm fur sibling who can help teach her how to enjoy the life of a dog.
Lilly finds the world a big scary place, and she is on medication for her anxiety. She is being treated by a Veterinary Behaviour Specialist from VSS. Lilly finds walks overwhelming and so we have been advised by the Behaviourist that Lilly is better off being a homebody. She enjoys being inside and playing with her toys, and she loves exploring the garden. We would not recommend apartment living as she so enjoys being out in the sunshine and lying on the grass.
Lilly responds well to her name, is learning how to play and trying really hard with basic commands. Car trips have been quite stressful for Lilly but we have been working on frequent calm car rides to overcome this.
Lilly finds small children scary, however she lives with two respectful early teenagers and she loves spending time with them. They are always gentle with her and let her come to them on her own terms. She finds new dogs very scary and barks at them, and unfortunately she is not suitable for a home with cats. We have not been able to get her past her reactive response to cats and she barks at cats and chases them.
Despite all her little quirks Lilly really is a sweetheart who will give so much love and devotion to her furever person. Are you that person?
Medical notes
Lilly was an unclaimed stray who came into our care with a quirky head tilt and a habit of trotting in anti-clockwise circles. She was first treated for a damaged ear drum then sent for a CT Scan to see what was going on in her head. Whilst there was a small amount of fluid evident on her brain our Vets are confident she is not in any pain and there will be no ongoing health issues or treatment required.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
