Senior's Saturday

With many wonderful older cats here to adopt, CPS is hosting a special Seniors & Long Term Resident day on Saturday, the 30th of July. We will have the extended opening hours of 10am to 4pm, and every senior adopted receives a Starter Pack so you wont need to stop on the way home to buy anything. On the day we will also have a skilled behaviourist on site to answer any questions you may have about settling your new family member.

With kitten season slowing down, we have lot of adult cats needing forever homes! There are many benefits to adopting an adult cat instead of a kitten:
- What you see is what you get! Adult cats are more set in their personalities.
- In most cases, adult cats are not here due to any fault of their own. People move, develop allergies or living situations change.
- Older cats are generally more placid and easy going. Remember: kittens chew, bounce and bite! Not to mention get in to EVERYTHING they shouldn’t.
- Adult cats are better suited to children. Kittens are much more fragile, and adult cats are better able to deal with being manhandled.
- Most importantly, you may be their last chance for a stable, loving family home. Sadly for adult cats, most people gravitate towards the bouncy, big-eyed kittens. Older cats just sit placidly by and watch as family after family passes them over for a cute little kitten from this year’s litters. When well cared for many cats live well into their late teens, and adopters of older cats often talk about how grateful their new family members are to be adopted.
